Privacy Policy

Resume Blox — your data, plainly.

Last updated April 22, 2026.

1. What we collect

Two kinds of information:

  • Account data — email address and any name / profile details you give us, via Clerk. That's it. We don't ask for a phone number, don't do SMS, don't run identity checks.
  • Your resume content — text you type into the Studio (name, role, bullets, etc.), your chosen theme, page margins, and the named drafts you save. If you use the Studio without an account, that content stays in your browser's localStorage and never touches our servers.

We also record basic operational signals (server logs, error reports) that don't identify you personally, purely to keep the service running.

2. What we don't collect

  • No third-party tracking pixels. No ad retargeting network.
  • No behavioral profiling across the web.
  • No phone numbers, no government IDs, no payment info (there's nothing to pay for).
  • No keystroke-level analytics or session replay.

3. How we use your data

  • Operate the service — store your resumes so you can come back and edit them, authenticate you via Clerk, render PDFs, etc.
  • Improve the product — from anonymized, de-identified data we learn which layouts and palettes work, which sections get used, which AI suggestions are accepted. See §5.
  • Communicate with you — transactional email only (sign-in codes, account recovery). We do not send marketing email.

4. Cookies & local storage

  • Clerk session cookie — required to keep you signed in. Set by Clerk, not us.
  • LocalStorage draft (rb:draft:*) — mirrors your in-progress resume so a refresh doesn't lose work. Never leaves your browser.
  • UI preferences (preview rail width, sign-in toast shown flag) — small strings, stored locally.

You can clear any of the above by clearing site data in your browser.

5. Anonymized data for product improvement

By using Resume Blox, you grant us permission to use anonymized, de-identified derivatives of Your Content and your interactions to:

  • Improve layouts, suggestions, and scoring.
  • Train machine-learning models that power features like "AI insights", resume scoring, or mock interview coaching.
  • Produce aggregate analytics.

"Anonymized" means before any analysis or training, we strip names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, URLs, company names, and other fields that could reasonably re-identify you or a third party. Your raw, identifiable resume content is never used for training or shared with third parties beyond the operators listed in §7.

If you don't consent to this use, don't use the service.

6. Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We don't trade it. We only share it with the third-party operators we depend on to run the service (see §7), and only to the extent those operators need it to do their job.

7. Third-party operators

  • Clerk — authentication. Stores your email and session. See Clerk's privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, edge database (D1), and DNS. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Sponsor networks — when we display a sponsor mention we may pass a simple impression ping. No cookies, no personal data.

8. Your rights

  • Export — every resume is one-click PDF export. Your account data can be requested via email.
  • Delete — delete resumes individually from the Studio, or email us to wipe your account.
  • Correct — edit anything about your account from the account modal, or write to us.
  • Withdraw consent — stop using the service. Your data is deleted on account deletion within 30 days, minus what we must retain for legal reasons.

California residents, EEA residents, and UK residents have additional rights under their respective laws. Email us and we'll honor them.

9. Retention

Account data and saved resumes are kept until you delete them or the account. Server logs and error reports roll off after 30 days. Anonymized derivatives used for product improvement are retained indefinitely — by definition, they cannot be tied back to you.

10. Security

TLS in transit. Data at rest lives on Cloudflare's infrastructure with their standard protections. Clerk owns authentication, including password hashing / passkey handling. We don't claim perfect security — if you suspect something's wrong, email us and we'll act quickly.

11. Children

Resume Blox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the account.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the site at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
